Middle Eastern Library Launch

An extraordinary launch for an extraordinary publication!

At the opening of the Middle Eastern Library of Leiden University on 25 September 2024, we were delighted to launch our latest publication Prophets, Poets and Scholars.

With the richly varied opening program that included speed lectures by authors, the evening allowed visitors to truly delve into the vibrant collection of Middle Eastern and North African material that spans the ages, from the dawn of history to the present day.

To celebrate the occasion, more than 40 authors from Leiden and beyond have contributed to this special volume Prophets, Poets and Scholars, covering the library’s rich and multifaceted Oriental holdings. Edited by Arnoud Vrolijk, Kasper van Ommen, Karin Scheper & Tijmen Baarda.
